64 bit engine bounce in Sonar?!

Quick question...

If when bouncing tracks to audio in Sonar, if I export them as 24bit files, but tick the option for "64 bit engine" in the bounce options, what is this actually achieving?

Need to know if I'm wasting time by clicking this...???

Yeah the 64 bit joint is good to have on, ensures the bounce is good!

I guess it's utilizing the 64-bit processing power when doing the output, not sure what that really does though!

I think it's just meant to improve the sound. (Well, obviously).

I re-mixed a track, but I'm working in 24bit now, and exported with the 64bit engine and un-checked the 'fast bounce'.

Not sure if the track had more depth because of my mixing, or because of the settings. I could always test. Not sure I can be bothered to though! Ha
