AMD a4-3400 quad core VS Intel I core series?

Currenly using AMD a4-3400 quad core

Intel I series got my attention (Although its a bit expensive). Is it practical to change my processor?

It seems that you guys are voting For Intel. I guess I have to go with it. I'm choosing between i5 and i7. Many people discouraged me from getting an i3.
