Any tips on a reggaeton beat? And wat you think of this genre of music?

Hey guys im kinda newbie to this site and i just wanna say before hand you guys are a ton of help and alot of you know wat your doing. But i have a problem i am goin to be workin with this local artist that wants me to do sum reggaeton tracks for him. So i was wondering if anyone here had any luck with makin any good reggaeton tracks and wat you think of this type of music? In my area its really huge they even play it on one of the major hip hop stations! Some songs are pretty hot but can get repetative after a whiles. Well let me know wat u think or have any ideas.... HOLLA!!!

what's reggaeton? I do listen to reggae, but I dont know that kind. I know Roots, Dub, Dancehall, ska, ragga, raggamuffin... but not reggaeton...

Is it the latin reggae with the annoying snare?
