Audiophile 2496 and Audiophile USB

I wanted to know if they were EXACTLY the same just that one is usb. Also wanted to know if the USB one was 24/96 too cuz it doesnt mention in the descpription( unless I misread )

Could this thread be transfer in "The Lab", cuz there's less people that goes in the hardware!

And right now I need advice for real, cuz I called to some place and they said that their clients had a lot of problem with the Audiophile USB drivers and that they were going to have the Fast Track Pro ( http://www.m-audio.ca/products/en_ca/FastTrackPro-main.html ) . It's basically like the Audiophile but with a pre-amp, I would pay 40$ extra for the Fast Track Pro.

Is it worth it? And does it have a good pre-amp? Cuz i don't know much about pre-amp

Fire Wire 400 is still faster than usb 2.0, and there are faster versions of FireWire.

Man there's so much bad shit I have heard about USB audio interfaces it's not funny, although I have never used the Audiophile USB.
If u can get the 24/96, u be best with that.
