@Tomblr - These drums sound perfect! Nice punch, grit, and weight. That kick tone is really nice. I love the dreamy, ephemeral quality of this beat - but still has a grittiness to it and fits quite nicely on 'traditional' boom-bap drums. The woodwinds and the little guitar slide/licks, really work to add some extra character too. Very nice. I like how some chops are nice and smooth then get really choppy. Lots of good ideas, executed well in here.
@JECHO - I was listening to the intro thinking "this isn't the mix he settled on?" Then the beat kicked in and I thought it was a brilliant way to open a tune - catch the listener off guar then drop a bomb! That being said, I think you went a bit too far with pushing that kick. Aside from it being a bit distorted, it drowns out the really dope sample you have. I liked literally everything about this. The interlude, breakdown, and arrangement in general. Just that kick.
