Lately, @DJ Excellence seems to be leaning toward tracks built around repeated loops, and some of them work incredibly well—the one featured in the battle, that one, and this one. Great, great, great.

There’s a trippy feel in the air. Several beats, including this one, remind me of Mo’ Wox’s glorious releases. The @P.A.T. beats I like most aren’t the epic ones, but the ones with melancholic melodies, and I think he’s one of the candidates to win the next Beat This! (along with @Earsblower , @M.I.ndless , and @Tomblr and few others) because he has immense talent for making tracks that are sad but not too depressing.

This beat really kicks ass, though. There’s just one thing that came to mind: if only the lead instrument could be a real instrument instead of a synth, then it would be even better.

lovely. You know, after writing the post, I actually thought that I’d forgotten to mention the retro sci-fi -like the very nice vocals here- and in spy vibes too? the slightly mex trumpets, brilliant choice!
