Cubase Sx3 Quantizie Help!!!!

I'm having problem with playing my melodies into cubase SX3, everytime I record a melody from one of my VST it never plays back exactly how I played.I always have to do extreme adjustments to get the melody I want.What am I doing wrong? Is my quantize settings wrong or something else?

Someone Please help this is driving me crazy!!!

go up to the top left and turn on your snap shot

mess around with the quantize
sometimes i shut my quantize off just to get it rite and get that live feel
rite next ti it there is a little box that turn on the quantize while u record
u might want to shut it off
