look, i know this is going to (at least it has the potential to, in my eyes...)spark some heated arguments....... so lets just make an effort to keep things civil, ok?

i personally do not see how knowing these things have anything to do with being a "real hip hop head" so much as they are along the lines of knowing just to know, its not like they will affect your producing skills, your mc/rhyme/writing skills, your b-boy skills, your graff skills, your scratching skills, youu passion for the culure, etc....

and NO, i'll be honest, i do not know the answer to quite a few of those.

sorry to be harsh i only really listened to hip hop heavy from 96 on but i knew most of this by 99
i am interested in the colour of the original def jam records though
i'll just through in a couple for those that may haven't gotten them
the first song with a rapper (king tim #) wasn't a hip hop record though it was a funk record was called personality jock and if i recall correctly from the scratch doc. dj grandmaster dxt invented the scratch
