How many of ya'll producers started out with a DR-5 or used it? I think that machine is the best entry level product out!

I started out with a Boss DR-5...man i used to make some tight beats with that joint. Then when I got the money I got my MPC1K. The DR-5 is definetly a great entry level machine. I still f#$^ wit it till this day, if I can get my hands on one

I second that! That used to be my shit!!!! Then I let my homie borrow it and it ended up coming back broken. But, yeah I still like some of them drums! They got a real good 808 kit and some good rimshots on there... I think alot of cats started out with something like that... I think it really helped my direction of makin music...

I recently bought one for a 100 on ebay to give to my son and just to have we did a whole album using that machine back in 96
