Grimey Drums :
100 Hundred Classic Drum Breaks

grimeydrumsfrontcoverbz9.jpg

For those who don’t know, breakbeat samples are the lifeblood of Hip Hop and
Rap music and have been the basis of virtually all of the classic hit that you
hear today. Nowadays many producers have preferred to use more
prechopped and engineered drum kits, with producers who choose to dig hard,
sample and chop records by hand having developed signature sounds that
cannot be copied. This exhaustive process of hunting and digginer has now
been made much easier with 100 of the most well know drum breaks being
made readily and easily available ...

Very nice stuff DJ Nice, thanks for sharing. But the only thing is, its like these breaks have already been used. I find it hard to feel like I have the same drums as many other producers. I know with eqing/ect. that these breaks can be changed, but I still want to stay original.

This drum kit is definitely good for educational reasons though, for sure.

I feel ya Haze. But I still feel like if everyone uses the same drum kits, its hard to be original. I know that many, many breaks are just reused by even the best producers in the game. But I personally like to use different stuff then everyone else. I will probably chop up and use some certain stuff from this kit, but thats mainly because I haven't found many new breaks on records lately.

Everyone does it there own way though. Whatever works, its all good.

You make samples your own by multi layering them to suit how you want it to sound, but sometimes if it aint broke dont try to fix it.
