they did show a trailer for cloverfield in the beginning. seeing that on a big screen make me want to see that movie even more.

I've read the book and consider The Omega Man as one of my favorite movies.... I didn't like this rendition of I Am Legend.

The power of the orginal story lies in two parts.

1. The "vampires" aren't just monsters. They maintain human qualities and begin to assemle as communites and bascially contine to act as human beings under new conditions.

and

2. Robert Neville, although the last "man" alive, realizes that he has been terrorizing and murdering the "infected", and that he is the outsider that is no longer wanted. He essentially becomes the reflection of what he's fighting against: A threat against mankind.

This didn't capture either of the above points, they actually go opposite against both points.

They completely make the "infected" as inhuman as possible and Will Smith doesn't really try to eliminate any of the infected... unless his life absolutely depends on it.

By removing the psychological dynamics in the original story Hollywood proceeds to give viewers another fluff piece with no real substance.

Also for the record on Will Smith movies..... The tend not to stand the test of time. There are so many movies I saw at the theatre and loved! A few short years later, those same movies are unwatchable.

naw, nuff of those disappointed have either read the story or seen the two previous adaptions and were expecting more.

I thought it was a good movie, it wasn't profoundly great but it was a good movie.

It was entertaining, suspenseful, and boring at times but well put together and will smith did a amazing job. He has progressed as an actor.

Like i wish they would have had more info on his family,

but the movie did bug me out and made me jump.

and even if you don't like it take a girl wit you she will be all over you lol.

it has some suspense but for the most part I felt like the movie was missing a lot of info...
