Oh boy. @thedreampolice will be here any minute! Good article though, I would expect people to switch TO Reason because of the latest updates, no?

Yea, but if you take the prices into consideration...To some Reason may not be worth it.

If you've never owned a copy of Reason and you switch, you're coming out of pocket $500.00. Logic X, only $200

I love Reason 7, but for people who work with film and picture... VIDEO is a must, if they had that feature, I'd be fine, but they don't.

I've been working through it over the last year or so and it's rough. To open a video player, move it to the side or to another monitor and trying to get them to sync so i can comes to... It's rough. Video needs to be in the Sequencer or in a floating window

yea man, I dont think Greg is off his rocker at all, I use multiple DAWS to get the job done but Reason easily does 99% of the work. There are a few great programs to get Reason syncing to video http://www.reasonsync.com/ReasonSync.html and http://www.retouchcontrol.com/site_page.aspx?pageid=46 being a few of them. I actually agree with everything he says. Reason has hands down the best workflow of any DAW on the market, but plugins sure are nice, as is things like native video sync. I LOVE Logic, however I worry about being in bed with Apple on the pro app side, so my other DAW of choice personally is Ableton. Reason just works far to well for my needs but I certainly understand where he is coming from. If I lived and died my film composing I probably would be looking hard at Logic as well.

Ah, now see... I didn't know there were apps that like this for Reason. I will have to get of these and give it a test run. Thanks you

9 yrs and u didnt know? well, now i take it ur not finished with it yet.. its gotten a new lease on life in ur studio.

I really don't venture out into 3rd party apps. I don't even use Reason racks for crying out loud. I still see myself going logic, but will put these to the test, they're cheap and a tax write off, I'll let you know what I think

Don't quit on Reason just yet. Rack extensions is pretty darn awesome to work with.
