Heres a list of memory thats supposed to work but i dont think its exhaustive:

http://www.mpc2000xl.com/MPC_memory.htm but if in doubt go to a shop that sells MPCs.

As far as I remember it was just like installing memory in a PC, not remembering any complications.

Heres a picture of the motherboard (you wont need to take it out!):

Infact, theres loads of info at that site!

Good luck

i installed my memory myself. i unscrewed the bottom of the mpc and there was only two slots they could fit in so i took the old card out and put the new ones in. i read the manual aswell because the clips that hold the cards in can be tricky. i just brought the memory cards off the dude i got my mpc from

Ive max out the memory and change the lcd on my MPC 2000 (Non xl). i didnt have a clue of what i was doing but i got it done. on a non xl, there is a lot of screws you have to take out, thats the hardest part. Guitar center carrys the memory, thats where i got mine, just call them up and see if they have them in stock. Best Buy wont have them.
