The minute anything is made in a tangible form
i.e. music made where a person can hear it, picture drawn so someone can see it, or a photo is taken so someone can see it, etc.
The only question is how can you prove beyond doubt that you are the owner. Some are more tricky to prove than others, of course registering your copyright is the best way in such an event.
