Plugin Alliance bought back by Dirk

Dunno how many of you aware of PA or use their plugins, but the owner Dirk sold it to Native Instruments, and since their insolvency has now bought it back.

Good news for sure.

Interesting. It's good to see this happening instead of a big company owning the smaller ones, like we see everywhere.

Also, doesn't Plugin Alliance have some SSL plugins? I remember one that's really good.

Definitely, and he used the money of the initial sale of Plugin Alliance to buy Apogee and Manley, so hopefully that has some interesting benefits. Think he said he's making an Apogee hardware to run PA plugins from (I think companies have found advanced modelling technologies that use a lot of cpu to run so might be related)

Yes - the SSL channel strips 4000E, 4000G and 9000J.

I have the E and the J.

Reportedly they're really good and some rate them more than SSL's own plugin offerings and the UAD. Some prefer uad some waves some PA.

I found PA far more practical and cost effective than the other options.

I use them fairly frequently, used the 9000J's filter, gate, and EQ sections on my last mix.

Was using the 4000E pretty extensively for a few months recently, too.
