I don't do it this way at all aside from slicing shit up in recycle... I never use the rex player for anything because it doesn't have multiple outs or the ability to fine tune the individual slices. I guess if all you do is loop breaks without doing much else to it it's fine. But yeah the scream 4 is helluva nice unit when it's set to Tape mode to add more warmth to things that sound way too clean. There's plenty of ways to do things tho but I'd suggest to anyone learning to sample with reason to get to know your nnxt over the rex player cuz it's way more powerful.
