Yea people forget how big of a deal VST and VSTI was when they first came out. Changed music forever actually. Now Logic won't touch VST or ASIO in favor of their own "standards"
Studio One is great and I hope it will stay that way. But there are many great DAWs out there. Even free ones work amazingly. You can check some of them here.
