wasdadeal folks.... yo my sp is startin to flip out a bit... i have had the same thing happen to my eps a long time ago and im sure someone will have seen what im talkin bout... basically for those not familiar the sp uses sliders to alter whatever aspects you got (ie; volume, pitch, etc.) so when im in that screen the sliders are acting as if they are being moved up and down rapidly... i've heard its just due to dirty connetions inside or something... oh also one of my pads is goin out so you got to hit it like 4 or 5 times to hear whats on it....

1) does anyone know specifically about the slider issue; and

2) anyone ever opened one up to clean it out... it wouldnt have had to be an sp1200 necessarily... but just anything, how should i clean it, what to look out for, what not to touch to not fuck it up, and so on

please let me know ANY info related to this shit... im attached to this muffucin sp like it was my wife..... i seriously would flip the fuck out if something happens to it, and i dont want to open it up and fuck something up worse.... im not experienced really with opening up any kind of electronics really.... my other thought was to find an electricain to just open it up and look for any connection problems and clean it... but again i dont think i could trust someone that didnt have real specific knowledge about it, yall know what i mean....

so yo, please hit me up ANYTHING that could be of help ... pointers, experiences, suggestions, anything....

mad thanks in advance...

peace

It's expensive, but if you're fond of your SP you should revise your synth, have it checked, updated, modded to keep getting the best out of it. I mean, the machine is over 20 years old. Im not familier with a SP but I keep my analogues in check or else they die hehehe.

Dont start sprinklin alcohol right away, it can affect a lot of synthetic parts on a machine which can not be replaced since they wont make em anymore. Only the specialist knows what to look for with these vintage machines and there's a lot to keep in mind in order for someone not to destroy your precious.
