Good stuff guys, I liked the whole feel of the track. Beats were on point, and Ash, you got a good delivery on the mic. I ain't really feelin the title cuckoo though...lol....(just being honest)

yo you gotta teach me somting ae tips on the 4000! i've been working on that lately at the studio, and just getting acquainted with it. Do you use the mpc to layout youir beats or do you use a midi keyboard hooked up to some software? Or a little bit of both and everything out to pro tools? man the combinations are endlesss hah

didnt see ur question b4 ... i do all the sequencing on the mpc... typically only my drums and sample are the only actual audio coming from my mpc but all my keyboards are sequenced by the mpc... i record evrything into pro tools le and do further editing and tweaking in there. I honestly dont have any tips for ya man. I wish i had some secret trick but i just basically hit record and press buttons and hit keys. Its pretty straightforward. i would just say to experiment with it and learn every function. evrybody uses it diffrently. I use it primarily as a sequencer... i dont really chop on my mp (i use recycvle) and i dont play into it like swiss does. i just sequence evrything through it. i dont use software for making beats but i would like to incorporate it, i just need a faster computer to really get into it.

Hey guys, some of this is good stuff. Very well produced and there is something here. I would suggest, if you want to go "next level" you should have some type of coherent image. Then that should be displayed on your page.

50 Cent portrays a thug.
Lupe Fiasco is more cerebral - appeals to a different demo.
Young Jeezy is different as well.

Think of getting some form of coherent image along with symbols/logos and other shit that will add value to the packaging of your product. I noticed in the pics, you guys are "different" doing your thing - looks like this is kind of your "second job." Clipse has even has a coherent "crack dealer" theme. Just try to make a good narrative for your product and go with it. You might want to consider how you can creatively incorporate the Nintendo theme into your image - short of actually wearing a fucking Mario and Luigi costume.

I wish you the best of luck - polished production. Which one do you consider is your hottest song?

^^^^ appreciate it man ... and thats a good question ... honestly we have 15 songs on our album and we think they are all hot. and im not saying that because its our album but i really mean its hard to choose one that we feel is the best. and evrybody (friends, fans ..etc) seem to have varying opinions on which song should be our "single". We like Cuckoo cuz its high energy and diffrent ... its not a "safe" choice. We could throw a street banger for the sample heads or a club anthem for the ladies which we have but we wanna be a lil diffrent and unique. We felt Cuckoo represents our approach to the craft. Forward, progressive, and doesnt sound like anything else. We didnt want to release a song that we felt anyone else could make... like it or not, one has to admit that it doesnt even remotely resemble anything out. ... At any rate we are pretty much unkown to the masses so if one doesnt hit we got ample backup. no where to go but up really.

Lol i was way ahead of you on the nintendo thing.. we got people working on some artwork and we got some more photoshoots planned.

Word. I didn't hear the rest of your tracks, so you could have something stronger than Cuckoo.

Personally, I think Cuckoo has a strong instrumental and the delivery is on point. I think it's good- but it doesn't have that catchy radio-friendly hook. Maybe you're not necessarily going for that and just keeping it as a "street single." But I was waiting for a chick or something to play off you after you said "all my peoples goin buckwild" where she'd say some shit like how she's rubbin' up on you, or play off the "cuckoo" theme in the lyrics. The female voice, recorded kind of airy would help "lift" the chorus. OR...

Or - the affected voice that says "cuckoo" or whatever should be easier to understand - but still stay affected.

The chorus feels like it should "rise" rather than fall into the affected voice w/fx.
Anyway, good stuff - keep it up.

Do the Nintendo thing - you kind of have to :)

Here's an idea. Nintendo always looks for inventive ways of marketing shit. They do guerilla marketing, or they have a "Nintendo tour bus" that stops by near a college town to market their latest console.

I would seriously consider doing the Nintendo theme - Smash Bros. and all - and getting in touch with a Nintendo marketing rep (after you've established an image.) Have a song that could appeal to all audiences (like a MIMS 'This is Why I'm Hot' type BS) that you can play at one of their promo events or parties they host. They will pay you because the reps are loaded with cash.

Plus, the reps are savvy enough to know that the urban market spends a shitload on video games, so they will look at your offers as legitimate (if you present yourself to them in a businesslike fashion - and have a promo pack showing correlations between Nintendo and yourself.) The thing is - you have to either approach Nintendo - OR the marketing company that has the advertising contract. That's a little tougher to find out.

I think getting an "in" with a video game theme and going from there would be a very lucrative angle. I mean, seriously, I'm sitting here and thinking that you guys could be sitting on something that is a gold mine if you actually "sell out" in the right way and align with Nintendo or some shit. I just haven't thought of a good, credible idea yet. But I hope you catch my drift.

Yea... your right man, me and holmz were just talking about that, we have been focusing so much on the music aspect that we neglected the image part... Im definaly gonna take your idea to heart...That Nintendo angle could be a really good look..
