i leave mastering to the engineers after vocals are recorded so they can master with them there. anyway what ever happened to volume controls, if its low, turn it up on your speakers, maximizing isn't really necessary after you finish off a beat. Personally i just mix the beat as well as i can and try to leave some headroom, sounds much nicer.

cosign. plus, i you can, export it 24 bit, gives you some "digital" headroom if the mastering process stays digital.

the problem is not 24 or 16 bit.

the probelm is LOUDNESS against QUALITY.
and i already made a decision.

QUALITY!!! its all about enjoying muzik not loudness FUCK EM! i dont play that game with the others the others who are deep in the game have to much pressure from record label n shit they loudness at all cost but i dont have to. so i enjoy the DYNAMIX!
peace.

That would only help if you recorded everything at 24bit and not 16.

not really. i mean, the exported file doesn't "know" or care if the previous material was 24 bit or 16 bit. nonetheless, the material has finer loudness steps for mastering.
