they've had different type of infections that eat the flesh from time, like the strep mutation. hospitals are supposed to be vigilant in identifying, preventing, and fighting it. some have gotten similar infections just from small untreated scratches that somehow left them vulnerable. hopefully she gets enough cash to relieve some of the burden, financially, and to get some emotional and psychological help to cope and make the best of her condition and the hospitals fuck up.

This sort of thing is happening all the time here in the UK, hospital infections are becoming immune to the anti biotics and becoming harder to fight.
Personally I blame the serious lack of hygeine in hospitals nowadays due to constant cut backs and penny pinching execs.

Well we can't allow anyone from England to come in now!

Bloody shame and all what?

well, what she had was more than likely present before she checked in, it's that they didn't catch it early enough, and that shit attacks fast.

here they also mention the newer mutation (mutation of the same thing that causes mono, i believe)

here's another lack of due diligence in regards to the flesh eating disease

shit like this just happens, while this is an extreme case. but you cant really blame a doctor for it. sepsis is extremely sneaky. a small scratch, a weak immune system at the time and some tough luck and youre fucked.
hard to diagnose and almost always too late when apparent.
on the other hand a large percentage of diseases is diagnosed wrong but cured anyway since antibiotics eradicate almost every germ.
my dad once almost lost his leg becuase of it, chances were 50/50 even though it was diagnosed early

That is just horrible. Yes, something like is extremely sneaky, but they should be diligent in finding out what exactly is going on.

Both of my kids were born in that hospital, the neonatal department is outstanding.
I've been sick maybe twice in six years, both times I went there, worked out AOK, doctors were nice.
It does have a dirtyish NYcity type vibe to it in different parts.
I feel real real bad for that girl, and real bad for the doctor who fucked up.
