Congrats to @ConspiracyMuzik and and @Vossi Beats , You'll win all the stuff soon as long as you keep up that high level of quality. Huge congrats to @Whinkloss_Jr , bro, you're a junior so you might not know, but you just beat one of the biggest OGs around here. possibly the biggest. @2GooD Productions and @Memento Beats I didn't need to check the results to know you're on the top 5, and last but not least by Any means, @Therapy.strumm dude that was crazy! I asked you to be on the battle on the last minute, you entered and then you kicked my ass just to get to the top 6 and unluckily get eliminated by one of the biggest illmuzik monsters. nonetheless, you done a really great job buddy. that was a huge surprise seeing you up there. You haven't gone unnoticed, Great job!

Props to the rest of you who entered. @TACTIK your R1 was hella dope, and Memento You need to stop watching weird porn.

Some cool beats in there!

...also a bit too much EDM. Some of you gotta take your glowsticks and mandy out your asses when entering battles here! Swear I heard like Tech House, Jump Up and Dubstep in there, maybe even Afrobeats too.

Would love to know who's using samples too. (Not for the boombap, as that is what it is), but some of the guitar ones... you playing that shit yourselves or is it a sample out of a pack?

Congrats to all tho!

I do both. I have a whole collection of weird instruments. Half of them I can't play but I have friends who do. My bro is an elementary school music teacher so he's pretty dope on the piano and a bunch of others as well. Other than that I get whatever I need that I can't create myself however I can samples etc. Haven't heard of a vst that will create live sounds as good as the real thing yet. Still looking
How do you do it?

Big shoutout to @ConspiracyMuzik for the win. Every beat of yours was incredibly good. Same with @Vossi Beats @Whinkloss_Jr @GoldenBoy @Armani . Amazing amazing beats. :D Honestly speaking, it was a pleasure to lose to your beat @Whinkloss_Jr :D I predict you're gonna be a big threat to us and improve the competition in these battles. :D

@Armani If you're referring to Succubus it was not a result of weird porn but just great concept that came to my mind. I'm not into demons shit. :p

Yeah i weren't trying to call anyone out, it's just because it's a big personal creative dilemma for me.
Even since the 'heartbreaking' discovery that the main sound of some of my favourite records have been samples, it's still not been able to remove the feeling of 'cheating' or 'unoriginality' and can't seem to feel comfortable using them myself yet. So not sure how i feel about when others use a loop out of sample packs as their main hook.

Like there was one in there had a reaaally cool guitar sound, was curious to know if played or sampled (or what), no real beef it just sounded like the loop itself was so strong, it felt like the rest of the production was just kind of "there" because it had to have something around it as opposed to really working with the sample. Tough as like i said stronggg hook so needs to take centre stage.

As for getting others to play instruments for you, I'm fully on board with that and plan to do it more myself. Especially if that's kinda guided and selected by the producer.

I'm probably still buggin about trying hard to make sounds from my favourite records only to find out they didn't make them either!

I have hear many say that about unoriginality. I see it more in a sense of collaboration. And like many has already mentioned it also requires some skill to find a sample or loop that will work with the rest of the track and blend in. To me the trick is to make it impossible to hear the sample is a sample. If it were that easy more people would be doing it, but actually sometimes it can be harder, don't you agree? Like what you mention with the guitar. Not that i'm sayimng it was a sample, I have no idea. But it really does requie an ear for music to compose, no matter how you do it. Or at least that's how I see it. Maybe other will se it in a different way and that's fine by me. Music is art and art will always be subjective. No?

Blended in, hidden, or 'supplementary' samples I got no problem with. I just don't know how to feel about when the big main melody is a sample. I mean, if a sample off a record, cool, to an extent. But when it's a loopsample out of a pack. it's like hmm..

I dunno. The track that made me think this (tbf, there were a few), but this one just had a mega cool guitar part. And I was mostly just curious if someone made it or was a loop (no judging), just 'cause thought it sounded cool - so wondered how i would approach getting that sound in my own work. But it also to me sounded at the time the rest of the production attempted just to 'surround it' for the sake of having stuff there, which made me think maybe it's a sample. Either way, I felt it was such a solid loop/hook, felt track could have been more aggressive in working to exagerrate it.
