What are some dumb things people have said to you about music production?

I'm talking about people who don't know anything about music production.

I had a friend years ago and I was telling him about some of the recording process, so I mentioned EQ. And he immediately said "Oh EQ is easy, that's nothing", but of course for him he was thinking about using EQ on an old stereo system. Even when I told him it's not the same thing, he insisted it was the same.

sampling is like playing the guitar (originally I thought piano but guitar is clearer cause, it's easy to impress people who don't know music with it)


using it at 50% power to sound good easiest thing ever. using the whole 100% capacity of it to sound good is the hardest.
