Everyone has their own definition of successful, successful could be winning the "Battle that" on ill. I think you first have to define your short term and long term goals first and map out a plan to get there.

It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but also the right knowledge. If you don't know what the right steps to take are, then all your hard work will be for nothing. Money and luck also play a big part.

it will always come down to who u know.. everything DP said.. u can be average when u 1st get in, and improve while ur in the business.. i feel Swizz Beats is a prime example of that.. he had relatives already in the business, and gave him a shot.. he got a chance to submit beats to the top MCs in the game when he was young.. now look.
