how do ya'll organize your samples and sounds is there a program to do this i need suggestions on how i can acess my sounds quick but also be able to acess my whole sound library at once....i already have a bunch loaded into FL. what do ya'll cats do?
Keep them organized.. And in fruity loops have them easily accessible.. Meaning put them into the control panel rather than having to load each sound individually, I ave seen some cat's do this and it is kin of retarted (imo).. But, yeah, quick and easy access is always essential...
I Arrange them in kits.. this way when I need to get a few projects done
( dont matter what style) i can Jump right in Because i know where my sounds are How they are Mapped out Routed etc Keeps me Consistant when laying tracks
I agree with Nnxt:
I don't use samples, save drumssounds. But those are catigorized in folders of hats, b-drum, snare, ride....etc.
So do this with every sound. Like violin, piano.
Or man, if you search for samples for the tracks. Why not put them in a separate folder for that track aswell man.
i just have a fuckin huge folder called samples and i give them all random names, which just spring to my mind while using them i wouldnt recommend this tho as i can never find wot i need !
I to have just one massive folder where I keep my samples [not one hits etc], but I work out the bpm and then use that along with the artists and name of the track for the filename.
every Song I sample I make a Folder with the Name of it and Name all the Sample After the Song or a Simlar name so i can remember what i sampled I also put the Tempo for All Samples in the name of them
for sounds i juss name them folders for ez access and throw it in the packs folder in FL for samples wateva i named the beat have a folder for that wit the samples i chopped in there along wit the original song

my sample name is usually the song that was sampled or the artist. with other instruments I have drums set up into kits that I know the snare, hat and kick work with each other. others 1 shots are seprterated into types, I try to keep it simple
