When is a business worth it?

How much money does it take to make a business a good decision? Tax time is around and i'd like to take the opportunity next year to become a business to write shit off whatever but how much money would I have to make to make this a good option?

well... if you have a job... then right away... write offs of a Sole Proprietorship would go against your income...

that's what I'm thinkin.. I need to research it better an know what I have to make that would pay off all expenses and still leave room for profit
