@Armani - I appreciate going outside the realms of convention and the use of unique/interesting sounds. Snare is perfect level of moist lol. I don't quite care for that kick though. This intellectual, industrial stuff isn't my vibe - BUT - as I listened a couple times there was one thing I did genuinely appreciate. How you managed to use SFX/Glitches to build out a rhythm AND an underlying "texture" of melody. The sounds all work well and generate something that can actually be hummed back. Cool exercise in sound.
@Kane the MOD - I like that you try things and experiment not only with sounds, but grooves and feel. Unquantized drums are
really tricky to do, and I think you missed the mark on it here. I don't want to sound too judgmental - because I certainly couldn't pull it off - but I think when doing unquantized, you should focus on whether it's pushing or pulling. Is the groove leaning forward and giving the track as whole a forward tilting feel? Or, is it a bit more relaxed and slight behind the grid letting it breathe and slouch back more? Here, it sounds like it's trying to do with both, so you end up with an unnatural space between drum hits.
I did like the sample, and you know I love me some Rick bass!
