@Marc Duncan hahah thats so happy sounding ^^ the lalalala part especially the pauses break it up nicley aswell i think the overall comp is better than your last one the melody is more spaced out so it doesnt sound as much like a constant chorus if you get my drift ? gj m8 i like this one a lot! in short its far from my own style but i think its quirky and cool ! :)

so here's a new weird one i made as always any feedback is appreciated ! :D

Yessir!!! With the DMX Plug! I like this one!!!

@Memento Beats First beat: Thank you. I didn't use synths on the beats I used samples. I try to use other sounds but then it just sounds off, Sometime it works for me sometimes it don't.
Second beat: The high hat thing at :37 I understand I just thought it fit the beat giving it a confusing feel.

@Crispifier You weren't harsh. I actually like that you're honest.I want to get better so any advice you guys give, helps me in the long run. Nice video too, short and to the point.

@Feel gotta say i really respect your attitude m8 it's not easy taking criticism on stuff you pour your soul into so big ups there! i completley agree with your stance i dont beleive talent is something you just magically have i think its something you learn from hard work and practice i'm sure you will get there if you stick at it and for the record i think your beats had interesting ideas you just need the knowledge to express them properly :)

@EsquireMusic111 thx my man ! gotta rep dmx hahaha i'll check out your album the teaser made me very interested is it on spotify ?

@Marc Duncan : Interesting sound selection and I like the structure of the beat. Pretty dope

@Crispifier : I like this beat. I think I could hear it being used for some visual media like a television show, film, or video game. I thought the kick could be brought up a little more in the mix, and maybe have more of a High Pass filter on the snare. Overall, I like it though

@Alejandro : I like Union City. It sounds like it would fit well as a soundtrack for a video game or the underscore for a film score. Mix is pretty good too,

@2GooD Productions : I like the “Unseen Hand” remix, it really fits the mood of the lyrics. I would add more blend reverb to the shaker that is panned to the left, that’s my only suggestion though. Nice remix.
The “Puppet Master” is also a great remix, I liked the intro especially. It definitely has some Dr.Dre influence in it, which needless to say is a good thing.
The “Thick” remix is also good. I thought the horns could be blended more into the track or just used less but I think that’s just a matter of personal taste on my part.

@Memento Beats : I like what you did with the Mario Theme, especially the kick and 808 pattern. It definitely fits a beat battle format with the switch ups and the intricate drum parts. I like it.

Below are my beats for this week:

This is sampled based

This is original material and I played the guitar parts in this beat, White Sands.

@Marc Duncan This is full with optimism man, nice job of achieving that feeling with this beat. I like your fade in and the intro in general. The sound selection is on point for this beat. I would like to hear that clap little louder.
@Crispifier the intro on this is dope, your drums sound a little lifeless though...like overly quantized and even velocity on all the drum hits, and the part at 1:33 sounds louder...made me ride the volume knob, maybe you can automate that or compress it. The female vocal is nice.
@Alejandro This is very good my friend, that low brass/bass elements are dope, but i think they are little too powerful you can bring them down a little bit...and you can compose a quieter section...a breakdown of some kind and build it up again to the main thing.
@2GooD Productions What can i say man...all good, very nice...i dont know if im triiping or not... im not sure when i allign vocals myself... on Souls of Mischief you can try moving the vocals in either direction fora couple milliseconds...to fit the flow better with the beat...i also feel that in Thick...
@Feel I like the first one better, both of these feel like unfinished work, they're good but you should put additional work in to it...the low end overpower on both...
@Memento Beats I remember this from the battle, its dope...
@OMAR. That first kick with the room reverb on it surprised me, i was with my headphones on... i was thinking someone was knocking at my door hahaha..the rest of it is on point, everything good, nice and chill...
@Khaly Beatz This is good dude... definitely your kind of beat, it sounds like it needs more time spent on mixing it, 808 is very dominating...
@Chad they are all dope, Sunday Morning is my favourite..an all three you got the "punching bag" kick :) thats good, but maybe you can switch it with some other kick in some segments of the beats

This is for the week, i dont know if someone can rap over this? what do you think?

As @crosstevsky said all beats are good. My favourite one was "Twilight", on the second place would be "Sunday Morning" and White Sands on the third place. I also agree that it would be good idea to switch that kick with a different one. What is good is that your mixing and composition style is evident in every beat you presented. And it's good because it means your productions have similar features that tell the listener "Ohhh this is Chad". In "Twilight" I like that sample you used. When it comes to mixing I would say this is also a beat that has the best mix out of three you posted here. What is quite original to me is the fact that your low end in all beats is very delicate. Aside from that kick, bass plays minimal role somewhere in the background. It's interesting I would say and quite unusual. Overall, I like those beats. :)

I love it @Primz :D Very good production. Mixing is on point, drums are on point, choice of sounds is great. The title is adequate to the content :D It reminds me a lot of that synth based soundtrack from Stranger Things. One thing I didn't like was the fact that drop could be earlier. I expected it at 0:20 and I was quite disappointed when I found out that there is some other part but then you were saved by the later part of the beat. :D Great job :)

@Memento Beats I watched a video on hihat rolls, opened up Ableton and started messing around. I liked how it was sounding so I added some sample chops and a 808.

@Crispifier Thank you.

@crosstevsky What would you work on? As for your beat I think its dope. It isn't boom bap but its rapable

All Comments welcomed

These hihat rolls sound much much better! :up2::up2::up2: Really, cool job with this element of the beat. Melody is not bad. Rhythm of drums is on point but mixing must be improved. I would move that melody to the front as well as the snare. It should be louder to me. It would be also good idea to add some other elements to drums like crashes and/or open hihats to add a little spice to the whole thing. But those hihats you made are really cool. :)

The kick you are using is really difficult to describe. It sound good and bad at the same time.

I mean, it creates a very original sound but sometimes it sounds weird in some parts as it doesn’t fit in the song as in others.

However, love the samples used in all three and sounds very soulful.

It’s a bit flat and maintains always the same dynamic but I think that’s ok as it creates a very intense dark mood.

Sounds pretty great for a tension scene in a movie.

Anyways

Sounds very nostalgic. For a Hip-Hop best it is pretty great. I think it fits well in some albums I used to hear sometimes ago.

@Primz ok imma do this one first cuz it's important...eh hem.... PLZ TELL ME WHAT SYNTH/PLUGIN YOU'RE USING IT'S GIVING ME EARGASMS!!! ( specifically the dundundundun part)

ok so with that out of the way

@Chad you have a very unique/interesting style my man it's like i just popped a tab of acid and now the walls on fire but also spiders (in a good way!) keep doing your thing man i see ppl mention you'r kick but i think it's almost like a part of your style so i'm not sure i'd change it, all your tracks are musically complex and really dope, as a fellow guitarist i'd also like to point out that your playing/fills in white sands are very on point what can i say i digg em oh and the video on twilight made me smile.

Agree on my kick and snare i'm still working on getting a good drum sound it's my weakest point which is a little strange since im now making beats :p heheh

@crosstevsky i think you are very high level when it comes to your drum game and just in general, however when it comes to someone rapping over it i'm not so sure like: yeah they technically could and it might work but i feel the track is set up to highlight your amazing rythmn and the ambiance, so i could see this more as a track in a video game or movie. I like how subtle you are with the background melodies it give the whole thing a very erie atmosphere very good work i'm not really qualified to comment more on this it's not something i could or would make, but regardless your outstanding abilities are obvious

yeah i did mess with the velocity a little but maybe not enough? i checked the project file and yes sir you are correct (how the hell did you pick up on this ? hahah) the filter i used at the start of the song doesn't go all the way up so when the second "chorus" hits it sounds louder (is my theory)

@Feel good job man you picked up on the rolls real quick ! i sent you a video on tuning 808's i'm no expert at them but its sounds out of tune (i might just be wrong) but i do have pretty decent ears when it comes to notes so maybe check it out :p

HAHAHA, thanx man, i used Massive and Nexus and layered differed sounds together. FM8 was the baseline. It was a real mission though hahahaha but since there is some love on this style, might work on it to get even better with it :)

Omar, this sounds hard, the production is on point, the only thing I would change would be the earcandy, maybe a little bit lower, but its great anyway.

the good: it has a moody atmosphere and how to convey emotion with music is not something you can learn from a tutorial it also has structure so it's no one long chorus that is to say the composition is decent

the not so good:
i was really digging it til the 1.42 mark than that godsforsaken tom really killed it for me unfortunatly,

things to improve: since it's your first beat not sure i would say just keep making them, look up some tutorials online, maybe on some simple drum patterns and im a huge advocate for learning basic music theory. You can also add some extra melodies to spice it up oh and please use toms carefully as they can fuck up your rythmn section very easily if not used right. When it comes to the mix i am far from an expert but i would say just focus on the other stuff to start with and it should come with time and practice

to sum up: very good work for your first beat man!
