Great win @Primz. Interesting lyrics/ vibe

My thoughts....."little bit of hatin here on my end", bare with me..
I think that these votes show that, either:
1. The listening audience doesn't know what to listen for.
2. They would prefer a song where you can't understand the lyrics.
3. They prefer janky lyrics, lyrics about hate, crime, drugs, money, sex, booties, etc.
or there are multiple account users voting.

In my opinion: The combination of people in the contest voting, and the fact the listener doesn't know what they are actually hearing, as far as producing mixing and mastering, will create a plateau effect on illmusik. Unless this has already happened. I'm rather new to it. If the point is the help evolve hip hop it never will with these conditions.
Solution: Only have the people not competing vote. (if there aren't enough people to vote then lets incentivize the people not competing with voting points, stack up enough voting points and win a free plugin or something)

***If we say a beat is okay when its not, it won't help the producer or this community of beat makers. If I didn't feel my song was the best beat/song I wouldn't be saying this. CHEERS!
Interesting point of view there bro. My thoughts on my entry, i feel my sound was cleaner than alot of entries mixing and mastering wise, The lyrics are trash though no doubt, but they had a vibe to it that fit the song and melody. As much as we keep holding into Hip-Hop as it was, it has moved on. Evolved, in this case maybe de-volved. I listen to people like Nas, black thought, method ma, but they really wnt see much main stream attention as before because youngsters are now in control of the sound and what pops in clubs and radios. Also looking at the producers here, most are trap producers which is the evolution of sound now. I dnt know man, this is a tough one to discuss. I think @Fade had an article about this.

Thank you guys, really. This was the last beat battle that i was always losing. Now iv won every battle type so far. Nextup is that year end battle
Battle That? That's where the big boys grab their nuts and swing for the fences. Whatever that means.

@GoldenBoy I appreciate the feedback. However, we went through a tremendous amount of back and forth about the voting process that my head is still hurting from it! I'll sit this one out this time but I'll check the comments if anyone wants to go down that route.

My thoughts.....
Yeah sorry bro, but yours wasn't the best one out there. Sometimes you just have to accept that you lost. It ain't always easy, but that's the way it is. The system in here works just fine. I think anyone is voting for the beat they honestly feel is the best one.
Not winning don't mean your beat wasn't good. There can only be one tho. Just accept it and on to the next one

I totally understand the aspect of that. Illmusik shouldn't settle for the backseat being driven by the ideas of people with influence. Meaning if we want to evolve the music thats there now, it will only contribute to the continuation of poor dirty lyrics, and music that moves you to dance with the devil. Have you ever asked yourself why you like the music you like? The crazy part is that most people will answer that with "because its popular." This is a great example of likeing from the backseat. Allowing someone else to dictate the web and flow of your emotions. When do people write music because it moves you or really speaks to your heart, and not because we want to be excepted. Its not a matter of if you can make a beat sound like a beat on the radio, its a matter of choice. I personally see illmusik and its users to evolve music from bad to good. We need a change and in a bigger way than you know. I don't know if you have one, but would you let your 12 year old daughter sing some of the lyrics you hear on the radio? just a thought..

I'm not sure if you understand who we are. For most of us music is just a hobby and are not looking for fame or to be on the radio. We just love music. Im 38. That time for me has passed. These battles are fun for me whether I win or lose. Some people here are also just starting out and some are more experienced. Not everyone wants to change the world. We just want to share our music. Many of us are not experts when it comes to mixing and engineering. I honestly can't tell the difference when you use compression and don't but some people have an ear for those details. Some people also prefer trap beats where i prefer boom bap so there is no way to make these battles the way you want.

That is all I've said my opinion on music. Can't wait for the next one. I'm going to bring the most mainstream song you've ever heard!

Good. Bring the heat but mainstream don't mean you will win. Like I said. Im 38. I've been a hip hop head since I was 12. I grew up on hard-core and underground hip hop so if it sounds like a radio song sorry. It probably won't get my vote but you do you and make what you like.

@GoldenBoy your beat was cool m8 i really like the harmony in the outro with the singing, but sometimes you dont win and sometimes you have to switch up your style if you know its for a competition i wouldn't post one of meldoic ass instrumentals for a comp for example, sry though i feel complaining about it after is a bad look even if its unintentional.

Okay, that's the LAST time I base my final vote on "because I don't think others will vote for it" because twice now it's been @Primz and made him place/win. haha.

I thought the high-end was a little too fizzy/mushy, but I liked how the track overall sounded like a "song". So that's why you got on my list.

I thought @crog85 's or @2GooD Productions 's would win, and expected @Memento Beats in 2nd. I was fairly certain I knew who this 3s beats were. Thought Memento's piano sounded really quite cool, the tone of it, I could kinda tell it was programmed though*.

*that didn't stop it sounding cool, btw
