So Wassup? Episode 1 | Jeru The Damaja "Come Clean"

Somehow I think that floppy disk is worth a lot of money...

    Clashing frequencies causing artifacts

You mean clipping? EQ sweeper if there's a resonating frequency in the sample, or if you stack sounds, adjust level or EQ the part where the frequencies clash. Do you have a compressor active on one of the channels?

Finished Beat It Up! - Battle #143

Beat 1: Nice bounce! Drums are dope and add nicely to the rhythm of the sample. Big fan of how you panned the hihats. The mix sounds a little "dry"; the snare is kind of loud/harsh to my taste. An EQ sweep or transient shaper might do the trick. Beat 2: Nice mood, I like the chord progression...

    Sounds familiar samples?

Yeah I always try to chop. Nowadays the art of sampling isn't mainly about crate digging anymore, with all the samples you want available in a couple of mouse clicks and where almost every record is sampled before.

    Sounds familiar samples?

I really like sample based hiphop and find the originals to see how the producer made a beat with it. Sometimes the original is so strong that they didn't even try to 'flip' it. It would murder the sample. Does these songs sound familiar?
