Dude, I used whatever I could get at the dollar store, then when I had the money i rocked TDK or Sony. I LIVED on my 4 track laying down beats and recording my bands. Oh and of course I would dub tapes all the time!- thedreampolice

HE MAKES A GOOD ARGUMENT
I like the idea of limitations, and I certainly think it fits the hip-hip aesthetic, but man if you are composing more than sampling, workflow and speed become key. And you can certainly get that old school sound out of a DAW, but yea we chase upgrades instead of creating I will agree. But this...- thedreampolice
