How do you make a beat w/o words being spit on it yet
Keep it simple, you dont want the beat to override the rapper. Vary your patterns, they can be 2-4- or 8 bars you dont have to keep using the same [attern over and over, its all in the arrangement. -

DO you go past the 1970's? 1960's? Do you look into pop of the 1940's? Can you sample from the 30's? Do you go through and are you inspired by music from 1710? I heard a kick ass song that was actually from 1710 on the radio the other day, sooo many ways to break a song down I learned... -
