Reason or MPC 2000 for drums
Both mpc and reason runn a resolution of 96 ppq so timing isn't a issue, processing speed is different because the pc runns through kernel multitasking which is kinda shabby opposed to MAC osX which runns mulitple kernel drivers in multi tasking. the mpc processing is not multitasking and...- Formant024

Vintage controller with 61 keys are the Roland Juno 106, Jx3p, jx8p ( try to get PGxxx controllers with them). these are mostly pretty cheap and can still be found in mint conditions. Dont buy a controller board, try and find a vintage of some kind with usefull sound that you can use for productions. It's still a masterboard. Microkorg's are cheap too and would do the trick ( except it hasnt got the 61 keys ).- Formant024

You cant compare the two, pre amps stabilise output voltages, if tubed it creates a warm sound. Like I said, Your not losing oppossed to the 2kxl. Definitly when it comes to the purpose of creating hiphop.
