    What about Cubase?

I use an ancient version of Cubase: SX3. I never found a reason to upgrade beyond that.

Tell Me - Is Sonar capable of competing with ProTools?

I still use Sonar 8 PE for actual recording/composition and I have an old copy of PT M-Powered 7.3 I use for sending out projects. Though in this day and age I don't really see these holy wars anymore. It's seems we've finally got to the point where we can use what we want as long as it sounds...

Studio Headphones (what kind do you have?)

Audio Technica ATH-M40fs. Been using them for about 5-6 years now. Caught 'em on sale for something like $45 and haven't looked back. The problem, now, is that the surrounds are worn to hell and I haven't been able to track down replacements.

    How many tracks?

Because I do a lot with samples, I've done as few as 4 tracks but I'll typically max out at 16. I approach it from an old-head perspective where 16-24 tracks was all you had to work with. 2-3 ADAT machines and a 16-24 channel 8 bus console. My default setups in FL Studio, Cubase, and Sonar...

    Be careful with Behringer mixers

I had a Xenyx 502 some years ago. Shit was whisper quiet. Before that I had a Eurorack MX1604a and had nary a single issue with it. I've heard horror stories about Behringer stuff but it was never my experience.

    Headphones

Audio Technica ATH M40fs cans over here. Some of the best headphones I've ever owned. Very flat response out of these with none of the artificial "sparkle" on the high end some headphones introduce. Sad that they've been discontinued, but there's still a few retailers with 'em for sale.

    I got my iMac!!!

That's the thing with me, I've been a mac owner in the past so I CAN compare the two. Personally, though, I'd prefer to see some quality stuff under Linux. Energy XT is about the best thing going for Linux users.

    I got my iMac!!!

tell me I'm wrong tho... any mention of any similarities between OSX and Windows to a Mac user results in a crusade of epic proportions.

    I got my iMac!!!

not to really start a holy war... but you do know that Windows has a good number of keyboard commands, right? Open Explorer - Windows+E Close Window - Alt-F4 (has been Alt-f4 since at least the windows 3.x days) Lock Computer - Windows+L and many, many more.

    1200 Nooooooo

I'm good y'all. Just been busy and mentally drained of all things hip hop. No worries tho, I have a new joint to post up later. Would have done it earlier today but I can't get to soundclick or any other sites like it to review everyone's music from here at the office.

    1200 Nooooooo

the difference here is that I can't think of ANY product made anywhere that has been around for nearly 40 years with only minor changes made to it. The biggest change came from the original to the MKII. The original had a rotary pitch control and the mkII has the slider we've come to...
