    hmm I dont have that problem on this side, that Phenom is a crappy cpu but that should not matter. How long to do wait before you give up? Usually if you wait out a not responding problem it will begin to work again.

    For most of what is done for hip hop production any external drive would work. Glyph stuff is by far the best, and USB 2 is faster than firwire 400, but firewire 800 of course is faster if you have a firewire 800 port on your computer. Most newer imacs do.

    Akai knows that hardware boxs like that are dying, they will not invest much in making improvements. But they will milk the MPC name for a long time. And to be honest I cant blame them R&D is expensive.
