Initally, hated that beepy sound. Just the tone/sound of it. Not sure why. Nothing personal. feelin the bounce to this track though, it's got a proper nice bounce. Royce could have a decent flow on this. Could see this being used on a streetball video.- Iron Keys

Yeah, I was thinking dampen the highs, it's (probably) around the 2-4khz range, I tend to never boost (and often cut) things in that range, as it's a range our ears are very sensitive to (because of human voices) and where I usually would boost a vocal. If you're taking each...- Iron Keys

Heez, love the sound/vibe of this one. Love the photo that goes with the track too. Only thing I find, is that the main sample gets a bit annoying fairly quickly, very possibly because of it's strength in the upper mids... when i turned my speakers down, i felt i still needed to turn them...- Iron Keys

Haha yeah, I know, mannn, I know. On that note however, what are good / cheap whatever drum tings you'd recommend? -

Just wondered if anyone here uses 'Grizzly' vst to load their drum samples into... I never usually have a problem with it, have had the odd occasion, but my last few beats I'm getting this problem... After producing for 5(ish) minutes, either sonar (or grizzly <- think is this) is... -

Thanks, brethren. I guess in terms of recording through an amp, you're left no choice but to eq /compress/whatever after. -

In a very typical circumstance, is it best to process your signal i.e compression/eq THEN overdrive it... or is it better to add such processing after it??? I know it depends on what you're after, and perhaps if you need to trim / bring out elements of the distortion... but for processing of... -

Layering kick drums...
Mad love for all the advice in here. I'm really feeling going to record some drums for myself and try to get those recording hammering hard. Then just create a lil sample drum set from them. I got access to drummers and a basic studio, will try and find a decent engineer to help me get the... -

I'm more often than not trying to get a big heavy commercial sound. I been considering whacking tubeamp plugins on my drums, and have been doing so, least with my kicks, maybe i should drive/limit my drums a lot harder...? Thanks for all the advice, illbrethren
