    Right but if you boost the highs and then compress you are causing your compressor you kick in to gear earlier makeing it clamp down harder on the highs. This is sometimes what you want but not always.

    EQ after the compressor unless you want the compressor to overcompensate on certian frequences. If you dont know you had better play it safe and compress first.

    I think that Pro tools is a terrible mastering tools. For mastering use Sadie or Sequoa or Hardware. If you are not a mastering engineer you should sent your stuff of to someone who is.

    lol, right on. I am running vista on a test machine now, its ok but it does not do anything that my underpowered ibook with osx 10.4 cant do with ease.

    dude sorry but you guys are all wrong, I USE MEDIA CENTER AS MY MAIN DAW WITH MAUDIO HARDWARE. Media center actually totally rocks. It IS windows XP So if the driver works with XP it will work on "Windows XP media center" no need to dual boot.

    Ilok is one of the reasons I dislike pro tools, dont treat your customers like criminals. Basically its a form of software activation. You have to authorize your ilok key to use certain software. Check out https://www.ilok.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/iLokManager see if that helps

    I dont think you can rewire protools to logic as neither one will act as a rewire slave. Now I do mix my songs that I make in logic in other programs by exporting each track. Really not that big of a deal.
