    i like the odd crunk joint, but alot of it is too uptempo and synthy for me. the whole crunk attitude is tight though. the best crunk tune i ever heard was Dead Prez's 'Hip Hop' - "DP's got that crazy shit, we keep it crunked up" sAfE.

    when i used to use Fruityloops i just created the melody and then copy and pasted the piano roll into the bass channel, and then dropped the octave a few. i then used to just add/take a few notes and this sounds really tight. sAfE.

    if you just want it for sampling, theres no need to buy one brand new. go to your local pawn shop and get one for $20 or whatever. just make sure it has a pre-amp. sAfE.

    PC laptop for audio production

    i used to make beats on a laptop, and the soundcard in mine was pretty bad, its usually the cheap sort made for PC gaming etc... and soundcards are very hard to fit on a laptop. the best thing to do, as Afrique said, would be to get a good quality external soundcard, and hook everything up...

    all good except for the Bass part lol. the best way to make bass is to have it follow the main melody of the track, or at least in the same key/scale as the melody. and maybe drop out/add the odd note. use a bass sound which doesnt overpower the track, i hear alot of good beats spoiled...

    I think if you go with Numark or Stanton you will always have a good turntable, they have some nice models in the 400-500 range. you should put som money aside for some proper cartridges though. But then again if you can find a Technics then they are solid quality for life. sAfE.
