    I dunno about Acid but you dont need to look into the prefs for it. When creating a new file you should be able to set it to 44khz mono.

    what are you recording ? A mic isnt stereo so logically you would only have one channel recorded. If so you should set the the state of the channelstrip in the program to mono because it also records the other channel with blank signal and that does take up space.

    ^^^^ I thinks it's only smart to work that way, I do the same with FL, just save everything directly to zip and save updated versions a la trackv1, trackv2. This way you can also always step back if you mess up.

    Hard disk failure 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.... there goes everything. Its a good thing, bad thing situation. Brain error, overwrite your last good version with a empty project. I did have a board once my gf knocked over, busted the transformer and melted the psu.
