Sampling problem with maschine
You may try and use ASIO4ALL but your best bet is to get a USB audio interface. Also what are you sampling from? If it is a turntable then you need to get the signal up to line level and that would take a preamp, so spend like $100 and get a USB interface.- thedreampolice

You may have a strange one than man, I have never had the fan noise be to much. Have you tried using canned air to blow it out? That may help. And yes they are custom Seagate drivers that Glyph uses but the design all the cooling systems and of course there warranty alone is worth it. But you do...- thedreampolice

WD External Harddrive issue...
Go glyph they are the ONLY drive made for audio. And they do all kinds of things to the drive in make it work better in that setting. Also if the drive crashes they will try and recover the data for free. No one else does that!- thedreampolice

huh? I use many different external drives with my mac, including WD, GLYPH, SEAGATE so whatever dude! As far as Logic Pro being unstable? WTF I can crash fruity in a second EASY. Logic is very solid.- thedreampolice

ha ha, I try not to hate on any DAW. As I think each one has its place and connects with different users. BUUUT ACID is super cool, Sony just has no idea what to do with the program. Ableton is way better than acid anyway. Most of the innovative stuff is moving to mac. I also have this feeling that Roland will not move cakewalk in the right direction.- thedreampolice

Man even windows 7 drives me crazy, there is just all this shit that doesn't work as well as a mac. I am telling you there is a reason mac users don't switch back. Even my aging G5 works better, its just not as fast as my quad core dell. And yes I was a windows tech forever I know it inside...- thedreampolice

Audio Interface for Laptop
yea you can hook up your studio monitors. I have had great luck with that product and have never seen one die. (And I have seen about 50 total.) But if you are worried about it buy the cakewalk interface.- thedreampolice
