    That sometimes works, but if the drive is actually making noise then you have a mechanical problem and even linux wont help that :)

    Dont do that yet, put the hard drive in the freezer overnight then try again. If you still cant get anything off it then give it a smack. If that is a no go then you are done.

    no not even close. sorry Point is almost EVERY studio in the country uses Pro tools so you had better know how to use it when you walk in the door. Sorry AVID Pro tools has a larger uses base than almost every other DAW combined. I am not saying it is better, but EVERYONE uses it. Seriously...

    Nope the talent is all you. I have said it before, if you cant make great music with Acid free, Hammerhead, and audacity (all free BTW) you have no place upgrading to anything else.

    Wasn't Nuendo tested with 200 tracks like 8 years ago? I thought track count in general was kind of overcome by everyone. Side note if you need 75 tracks for a hip-hop song you are doing something wrong :)

    yea the d3200 does record just wave file so you should be able to get them in to your computer and just import them in to pro tools in one swoop. But if it was me I would sell the d3200 and get an 8+ input audio interface so I would not have to leave the computer. I mean if you sold the 3200...
