well ya the 1010 and the 1010lt will work, but if you are going to buy the interface and m-powered you will be over budget.

Recording vocals: Shure SM57 or 58?

What is your budget? I think everyone should buy an MD421 ASAP! Most versatile mic period but they cost around $250-$300.

Recording vocals: Shure SM57 or 58?

depends on the source. I usually like the SM57 better but sometimes the 58 works. I usually use the Sure SM7 or the MD421 over the 57/58 but again each sound source is different.

Who here owns a studio in a building

"i think people take u seriously based on the type of equipment " I agree, but that is the wrong attitude. I have recorded in million dollar studios and in bedroom/basements and guess what I am expected to do just as good of job either way. Its just like producing its not the gear that makes a...

Who here owns a studio in a building

ya most engineers I know would make better money working at the factory. it is simply not a money maker these days. The overhead on your own build is insane, just think your rent will be (depending on where you live) $2000-$10000 a month. Just think how many hours you will need to bill just to...

    MIX And Master

I totally disagree, mastering is worth every penny! It also takes years to become a good engineer. If the studio cant work with 24bit files leave and go somewhere else immediately.

no I think since ver 6 they have had good midi support. The sequencer is actually not that bad. Also you can rewire reason and use reasons sequencer, and i really love reasons sequencer.

    I just bought Digidesign Velvet

If you turn on the mechanics and blend that it really sounds great. Also if you really bang the keys it gets all wonky like the real thing. Loung and elektrik are great but neither do that. Check out media on the above link to see what i mean. great stuff!
