lol, well I am working on getting pro tools certified from Berklee College of music, and It will help my career to know it. There is a few cool features, but I would rather use nuendo or logic. Pro Tools Makes me want to shoot myself in the F$%king Head!

Ahmen, Pro tools is still used more the the (top 40 Major) Industry than logic (TDM I am sure) And it does edit audio better than logic but its a dog! I hope apple gets logics audio chops up to snuff then I will never need to look at PT again! I am going to keep it around for those clients that...

Pro Tools Makes me want to shoot myself in the F$%king Head!

I love logic! It just sucks as an audio editor. I just finished a huge mix in pro tools tonight, I can not believe it does not have offline bounce. ***Pulls trigger***

Pro Tools Makes me want to shoot myself in the F$%king Head!

Ahhhhhhh It takes 20 steps to do in pro tools what I can do in 2 in Nuendo. Remind me why I am working on my Pro tools certification again!!!!!

    Sound Cards

Listen to the songs on my site by "Fourth Time Around" it was an album I engineered and everything was tracked with a 1010lt and mixed in Nuendo. http://www.chrisscheidies.com/?q=node/62 that should give you an idea of what the 1010lt can do. Its pretty good.

    Sound Cards

the 1010lt does not have balanced i/o and BTW I push 16 channels of input and 8 channels of output throught my 18/14 through firewire on my laptop all the time without any issues.

    Sound Cards

I have the 1010lt and the firewire 18/14 I would get the firewire 18/14 because you can hook it to a laptop.

To correct the problem, locate the Digidesign Databases folders on the root level of each volume and remove or rename the volume.ddb file (for example “old volume.ddb”). Also remove or rename...

    Sound Cards

ya if you get a m-audio firewire 18/14 you could use an RME ADI-8 Pro as the front end. http://www.rme-audio.com/english/adi/adi8.htm#TOUR

    MIX And Master

relic it sounds like you went to some studio where the guy had no idea what he was doing. Dont let your one bad experience ruin your view of all mix engineers.

    Sound Cards

ok well you CANT use pro tools with RME stuff. Its either digi stuff or maudio stuff.
  19. thedreampolice

    Sound Cards

no maudio stuff ONLY works with mpowered. I do agree with the RME comment there stuff is awesome, but you wont be using pro tools with them. That being said Nuendo/Samplitude and Logic pro all work with RME stuff and are fantastic programs.

    MIX And Master

The reason you want someone else to mix it is because they are probably better at it than you. lol but you probably are much better at making beats than they are. I really feel that either get it professionally mastered or not at all, home mastering jobs rarely are worth a crap.
