    MPD16/FL8 help

    Set up bank B on the MPD to map from C5->whatever. Then use the Layer feature in FL. You have the layer channel split the children and it will map the samples from C5->whatever. Leave Bank A as-is so it works with everything else.

    I'm with J Rilla, it's fun when you're bored. I don't know how useful it would be for serious beat making because you have to have all your kits predefined. But to show it off at a party and whip up a quickie beat is cool.

    Layering sounds is a goto for me. Occasionally I'll use a harmonic saturator plug-in like Voxengo's LF-Punch. Some EQ can help also depending on what you need to phatten.

    I think Sygma's point was to make a roll that sounds more real. This is more effective if you have a real drum kit sound than with a electronic kit, but still a good tip.
